The PortoSense Douro is in an old fishermen's area and the romantic farms of the city bourgeoisie.
These historic alleys and paths can still be traversed today, on foot, so that you forget that you are in the heart of Oporto.
These paths lead to the famous Crystal Palace and its gardens that constitute one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the city.
In the streets around PortoSense Douro there are several bars and restaurants with great terraces to always enjoy the contact with the river Douro, extending both north and south. In about 20 minutes on foot, both you reach the Ribeira and the beaches of Foz do Douro.
But the main suggestion of transport from the area of Massarelos to know the rest of the city can only be the traditional electric car. Including, here is located the Museum of the Electric Car that tells the more than 100 years of history of this vehicle and the city. From here you have three options: to Ribeira - the medieval historical center of the city of Porto; until the Baixa, where they include the Tower of the Clérigos, the Avenue of the Allies and the Place of the Batalha; and even Matosinhos, known for its beaches and restaurants of fresh fish and seafood.
It is still worth noting that, just a few meters from the Douro Sense Port, you will find another means of transportation for a different tour of the city: a helicopter for sightseeing.
